River and Human

The 4th Uttarakhand Youth Talk was held on 25th July 2023 at the auditorium of The ICFAI University, Dehradun. The event โ€” a joint initiative by The ICFAI University and Free Smile Foundation โ€” focused on the sustainable relationship between rivers and human civilization under the theme "River and Human: A Sustainable Relation." Two distinguished experts joined as speakers: Mr. Ramankant Tyagi, Founder of NEER Foundation and known as the River Man of India (Chief Guest); and Dr. (Prof.) Ram Karan Singh, Vice Chancellor of The ICFAI University, who has extensive global research experience in water management and water resources. Hundreds of university professors, students, and social workers attended. The session saw robust interactive discussions on water conservation techniques, the revival of extinct rivers, river encroachment in hill districts, and the role of local communities in saving rivers.
